The Great Judy Garland Dies.

I was one of the thousands who went to her funeral. She had given the world so much, how could you not go and pay your respects?

I remember standing near the front of the line with my mother, behind two young guys playing "Over The Rainbow" on a portable phonograph.  I'd also never seen so many yellow flowers as there were in Campbell's Funeral Home that day.

[Stonewall]

The night she was buried the police raided the "Stonewall", a bar I sometimes went to.

This led to the "Stonewall Riots" and the "Gay Liberation" movement was born.
